La Habra Heights City Council Selects City Manager

The City Council selected Jarad Hildenbrand to serve as City Manager. The appointment is effective December 16, 2016 subject to finalization of the terms and conditions of an official employment agreement. The conditions of employment will be negotiated by a Council subcommittee composed of Mayor Kyle Miller and Mayor Pro Tem Jane Williams, and will be finalized by the City Council at its November meeting.

Hildenbrand has served as City Manager/City Clerk for the City of Villa Park since July 2012. He was Assistant City Manager/City Clerk from 2008 until being appointed as City Manager. He was originally hired as Management Assistant and Assistant to the City Clerk in 2006.

He earned a Masters of Public Administration degree from California State University, Long Beach in 2016 and received a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from California State University Fullerton in 2009.

“We are pleased that Jarad Hildenbrand has agreed to serve as City Manager in La Habra Heights,” said Mayor Kyle Miller. “His experience and education are well suited to the needs of our community.”

“I’m very excited to work in La Habra Heights, “Hildenbrand said. “I’m honored to be chosen as the next city manager and look forward to working with a dedicated City Council, staff and community that values a continued high quality of life. My experience compliments the City’s rural character and I am confident that working together we can accomplish great things.”

Hildenbrand will be responsible for all City functions, including Administration, City Clerk, Community Development/Planning, Public Works, Finance and Fire.

The La Habra Heights position became vacant when Shauna Clark resigned in July after nine years as City Manager. Since then, former La Mirada City Manager Tom Robinson has served as Interim City Manager.
