La Habra Heights ranks as one of the safest communities in the United States, according to a recent review of Federal Bureau of Investigation statistics.

The FBI data ranked La Habra Heights as the fourth safest city in California with a population of between 5,000 and 10,000 residents based on the number of serious crimes per 1,000 residents in 2015. La Habra Heights also ranked as the 213th safest community in the nation.

“There are many reasons that people choose to live in La Habra Heights, but most people say that safety is the most important factor of all,” says Mayor Jane Williams. “La Habra Heights residents enjoy the safety of our rural environment and excellent quality housing in the midst of a dynamic region offering a wide range of recreational, cultural and educational opportunities, good jobs, and outstanding medical facilities.”

La Habra Heights contracts with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for law enforcement services, which are provided via the Industry Station. Sheriff’s deputies regularly patrol the area, and work closely with local citizens to prevent crimes in the community.

Residents who observe an emergency situation or a crime in progress should call 911. To report a non-emergency incident through the Sheriff's Online Report Tracking System (SORTS), residents may access it at this link http://sheriff.lacounty.gov/wps/portal/lasd. Follow all instructions on the page carefully. The Industry Station’s regular business number is (626) 330-3322. Further information on the Sheriff’s Department is available by visiting www.lasd.org.
