 FORMATION OF INVESTMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE

On March 9, 2017, the City of La Habra Heights City Council directed for the formation of an Investment Advisory Committee (IAC). The Committee will consist of City Council Members, the City Treasurer, and residents of La Habra Heights.

The IAC will largely provide advice to the City Council regarding the City’s investments, review the City’s Investment Policy annually, review the City’s Investment Portfolio quarterly, and consult the City Treasurer with insights on investment opportunities.

Committees such as the IAC are only advisory in capacity and authority to invest will rest with the City Treasurer. The IAC will be a standing committee appointed by the City Council and subject to the Brown Act, meaning there will be public meetings with postings of agendas, preparation of meeting minutes, and each meeting will begin with Public Comments.

Residents of La Habra Heights are encouraged to apply as soon as possible, particularly those with backgrounds in finance, investments, accounting, and other related fields. The IAC is a great opportunity for residents to serve the community and become acquainted with municipal government.

To apply, please click here.

Information regarding the City's current Investment Policy can be found here.

The application can be found on the Homepage of the website, under the “What’s New” headline.
